Microplan Frequently Asked Questions

 

1.   What is MicroPlan Digital Lending?

This is an online platform that one can access in the comfort of their home or office, to apply and/or manage their MicroPlan loan, using their mobile phone. 

2.    Who qualifies to register? 

MicroPlan new and existing clients in the following categories who wish to apply for a new loan or top-up their facilities are eligible,

  • FBC and Non FBC account holders.
  • Government Pensioners, Civil Servants, Uniformed forces
  • ZNA & Air force if you bank with FBC.
  • NSSA pensions if you bank with FBC.
  • University staff members: UZ, ZOU, HIT, MSU, NUST, BUSE, LSU, CUT, GZU

3.    What type of a device do I need to register?

You will need to have a smart phone running the Android system.

4.    How do I register? 

i. Download the MicroPlan App (Google Play Store)

ii. Read and accept the Terms and Conditions

iii. Click on the Register button.

iv. Enter your National I.D & Last Name.

v. Enter your Status, Title and mobile number.

vi. Enter your address and upload a valid proof of residence.

vii. Take a selfie.

viii. Take a picture of your ID.

ix. Enter your signature and click on complete.

5.    I do not have a smart phone, how do I apply for a loan?

You can visit any MicroPlan Branch nearest to you with the following required documents,

                           i.          Current payslip

                          ii.          Proof of residence

                         iii.          Confirmation of employment

                         iv.          3 months stamped bank statement.

6.    I don’t have an email address, how do I register? 

The email address is optional for registration, you are required to input your national identification number and current mobile number.

 7.    How do I apply for a MicroPlan loan for the first time?

 When you have successfully signed up on the MicroPlan app, you can apply for a new loan by doing the following:

                        i.    Enter your PIN to Sign In

                        ii.    Press MicroPlan Services

                       iii.    Select Apply For New Loan

                       iv.    Enter loan application details and select “Next”.

                        v.    Check if loan details are correct and select “Agree and Proceed”.

                       vi.    Enter all required personal details and select “Next”.

                      vii.    Enter all required accommodation details, upload recent proof of residence and select “Next”.

                     viii.    Enter financial details, upload current payslip and select “Next”.

                       ix.    Enter employment details, upload employment confirmation, and select “Next”.

                       x.    Scroll down to read the loan terms and conditions, and if in agreement, select “Agree & Submit”.

                      xi.    The loan is successfully submitted, select “Close”.

 8.     How long does it take from registration to receiving my funds?

Not requiring SSB Booking

Requiring SSB Booking

2hrs – 48 hrs working hours

4hrs - 72hrs working hours*

*Timelines apply during the period when SSB is open for bookings.

9.    At what point am I eligible for a loan top-up

You can apply for a loan top up after paying 50% of the running loan.

10.  How do I top up my MicroPlan loan.

                        i.    Enter your PIN to Sign In  

                       ii.    Press MicroPlan Services

                      iii.    Select Loan Top Up

                      iv.    Pick loan account to Top up, press “Continue”.

                       v.    View current loan account summary, press “Continue”.

                      vi.    Enter additional amount, salary amount, loan purpose, select loan period, press “Next”.

                     vii.    View loan top up summary, press “Proceed”.

                    viii.    Enter Employment number.

                     ix.    Select employer category.

                      x.    Select employer.

                     xi.    Enter current Adress, number of years at current address and number of years at previous address.

                    xii.    Upload most recent employment confirmation.

                   xiii.    Upload current pay slip.

                   xiv.    Upload stamped 3 months bank statement.

                    xv.    Select destination bank.

                   xvi.    Enter US$/ZWL$ account number.

                  xvii.    Press the box to confirm bank details.

                 xviii.    Press “Next”.

                  xix.    Scroll down to view terms and conditions.

                   xx.    If agreeable, press Accept & Submit

                 xxi.    Your loan will be processed within 24hrs.

                 xxii.    The loan is successfully submitted, select “Close”.

NB: Should you not have registered on the MicroPlan app kindly follow the steps on “How do I register”.

11.  Is it mandatory to have an FBC account?

No, it is not mandatory to have an FBC account except for ZNA & Airforce employees and NSSA pensioners. 

12. What is the maximum loan amount I can apply for and the charges associated with my application?

The maximum loan amount you can apply for is three times your net salary. 

NB: You can view the Business Conditions that are available on your dashboard to see the type of loans you qualify for and the charges associated to the loan required.

13. Is it possible to have my loan proceeds to be transferred directly to an organisation or individual of choice?

The application has fields that one can select to make direct payments, within FBC and to other banks, however the beneficiary account should belong to the applicant.

14. Is there a way I can check my loan account balance and can I pay it off?

Your current loan balance will be displayed on the dashboard and the figure is valid for 24 hours to clear the loan.

15.  How do I repay my loan?

Loan repayments are deducted on your monthly salary via your employer (Government Pensioners, Civil Servants, Uniformed forces, Universities), or from your FBC account (ZNA, Airforce, NSSA pensioners)

However, in the event that:

  1. You deduction did not go through.
  2. You wish to top up your loan repayments.
  3. You wish to pay off your loan.
