Money market Investments basically refer to the trading of financial instruments with high liquidity and short-term maturities. This means investing in short-term debt with the ultimate objective of maintaining liquidity while obtaining interest on the investment made. These investments are excellent for institutions, companies and individuals seeking a return on their excess funds or to raise funds by selling commercial paper in the form of Banker’s Acceptances, Fixed Deposits, Treasury Bills, Negotiable Certificates of Deposit and many others in the market. Benefits of Money Market Investments
1. You receive high liquidity and earn good returns compared to balances that are left sitting in your ordinary account. 
2. There are no charges levied on these investments, allowing your capital to generate good returns. Businesses, individuals and charities/societies/churches/clubs can trade in Money Market Investments.
3. You gain competitive rates in line with prevailing market conditions. 
4. You can invest for a period of 30, 60, 90 or 365 days.
 
It is important to note that minimum balances are periodically reviewed and clients are advised when changes are made. Currently the minimum balance is at ZWL50,000 for individuals and ZWL100,000 for companies.
Withholding tax is charged as follows:
• 15% on interest earned for deals below 91 days
• 5% on interest earned for deals above 90 days
